The Expo
We are excited to launch the ALL NEW West Coast Homesteading Expo, produced by Bird + Duck Media!
​
In response to our society's deep need for a return to simplicity, a focus on sustainability, and a cultural shift back to homesteading, our team has developed the West Coast Homesteading Expo. This event will launch in the Western Washington region, hosted at the Washington State Fair Event Center in the Agriplex and Tractor Arena.
As new generations seek to control their food sources, the homesteading culture is being embraced with new vigor. The expo will feature workshops with expert speakers, live demonstrations, homestead-related product sales, animal features, giveaways, and much more! From gardening, landscaping, sheds, best practices, baking, sourdough-making, seeds, and livestock the show will have something for all current and aspiring homesteaders. Let’s turn our city and suburban yards into urban gardens and homesteads!
Our team has almost two decades experience in managing large format events including community-focused expo events. Past events have included The Baby Bump Expo NW, South Sound Wedding Shows, Mary Bridge Festival of Trees, Tacoma Wedding + Event Show, as well as other non-profit fundraising events. ​​
Land Statement
Our team at the the West Coast Homesteading Expo acknowledges that we operate on the traditional homelands of the Puyallup and Nisqually Tribes, as well as on lands with significance to other Coast Salish tribes. These tribes and people have lived on and stewarded these lands since time immemorial and continue to do so today. We recognize that this land acknowledgement is one small step toward true allyship and honor their voices and the histories of the Indigenous people of the South Sound region.
The Team
Events are my passion!
Tacoma native, Nadine earned a BA in Organizational Communications from Western Washington University and has worked in events for over two decades including owning two companies and producing expo events in the Pacific Northwest's largest convention spaces, the Seattle Convention Center, The Greater Tacoma Convention Center, and the Washington State Fair Event Center.

Relationships bring results!
​South Sound Proud, Emily earned a BA in Communication from Pacific Lutheran University and has spent the past 25 years in media, marketing, advertising, events, nonprofit and business development. Spending nearly a decade with Aramark, Emily was Director of Catering Sales at Tacoma Dome + Greater Tacoma Convention Center.
Most recently she served as Director of Membership and Development for Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber where she secured sponsorships from entities such as Puyallup Tribe of Indians, Puyallup Tribal Enterprises, Amazon, MultiCare, KeyBank, Comcast, Verizon, Port of Tacoma, DoorDash, Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, WA State Fair & Events Center, Edward Jones, UW, University of Puget Sound, and many more. She is a two-time past president of Tacoma-South Puget Sound NACE.

Matt is a transplant to the South Sound region from Vancouver, Washington and moved here to marry his soulmate, Nadine. As Nadine's right-hand in supporting the business operations for the exposs, Matt is an invaluable member of the event team!
